Ronny Rockel

Many people throw around words from time to time like "massive" and "enormous" to describe bodybuilders. But in Ronny Rockel's case, he really is HUGE. The German giant's body is full; a mountain of sexy muscle, and he is quite a delight to his many international fans everywhere. Not only is his body a work of art, however, but it's also a testament to what inspiration can create.

Ronny was born and raised in Germany, and like many other bodybuilders from Europe, like Milos Sarcev, and Pavol Jablonicky, he grew up under communist rule. Because of this, he didn't have access to a lot of the information on certain things from the outside world, including bodybuilding. All this changed however when the Berlin Wall in 1989, and Ronny got exposed to seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan the Barbarian. Seeing Arnold was the spark that set Ronny on the path to muscle greatness.

Building his body up didn't come easy at first however, because at the time, there were absolutely no commercial gyms around. Ronny didn't let this stop him, and instead employed his ingenuity to create his own weight set. Following the destruction of communism, entrepreneurial endeavors in the East of Germany flourished, and with this the first gym opened up. Ronny didn't waist any time joining, and once he was in, he hit the weights hard, and soaked up as much information as he could on training and diet from fitness magazines and other members of the gym.

At his first bodybuilding competition, the Hessian Championships, he placed last in his class. He didn't let this deter him though, and instead he came back a year later to win the NABBA German Nationals, and placed third at the NABBA Mr. Universe. With pro card status, attained by winning the International German Championships, and a contract he received from a nutrition company, Ronny hit the road and relocated to Venice, California. He continues to be a champion, and is a prime example of how diligence really does pay off.
