Stan McQuay is an athlete who is just out of this world. He owes his amazing looks to his Irish father, who was stationed in Japan at the time of McQuay's birth, and his Japanese mother. After only a year in Yokosaka, Japan, he and his family moved to Los Angeles, California.
As a kid, Stan felt like an outsider because of his dark skin and narrow eyes, so one day his father suggested that he take up sports. Stan soon started training for football and also took up Kung Fu and other various martial arts. One day, Stan used his martial arts skills for the wrong reasons and ended up in a fight, the result of which got him transfered to another school which was known for its gangs and violence. Even though Stan continued to play varsity football and made MVP during his senior year, he was quickly going down a wrong path.
His direction changed when he joined 24 Fitness Center in order to put more mass on his body in order to play football. This experience and new training slowly put him back on the right path and kept him away from trouble. Stan switched gyms and began working out at Powerhouse Gym in Chatsworth. Noticing his potential, a lot of the members started giving him dieting and training tips, and even eventually suggested that he enter into bodybuilding contests.
Not having a clue what to do or what to expect, he entered his first contest, the UNBA Natural Bodybuilding Championships, and to his surprise he ended up taking 2nd place. It was from this point on the Stan realized that he had the potential to make it bodybuilding. Having won numerous titles over the years, along with appearing in magazines, publications, and other projects, he has become an icon in the fitness world and continues to inspire.
